Oil company partially owned by Trump is currently laying an oil pipeline across sacred land that was given by treaty to Native Americans and then taken back. The permits were issued without the legally mandated review of it’s historic and environmental significance. Now they are trying to put pipe underneath the only reservoir that serves water to that entire area even though the same pipeline was diverted from going under a different water source (that did not serve a Native American population) because it was considered too much of a risk to the water supply. The affected people are peacefully protesting attempting to stop the progression of the pipeline while being attacked by a militarized local police force.
